After We Are Saved
We each make a difference; have responsibilities
We don't "have" to do anything after we are saved, but we should WANT to do many things - for our Father in Heaven - and for people around us!
Jesus told us to love our Father in Heaven with all our heart and soul. He said to love our neighbors as ourself. We are to humbly serve others. We are not to be selfish, to hoard or to go into seclusion. We are part of the Kingdom of God - part of His ministry, part of His church and breathing each and every day to enjoy our small part working for Him and getting to enjoy His blessings. That is the heart we should strive for - the heart of Christ.
Times will become more and more strained in our country as well as around the world. We should consider now what we could be remembered for - after deeds are done or lives are lost. Will we make a difference and how will we do it? What will we
contribute to financially, emotionally, spiritually and physically? We will be
accountable and we should try to be right about the things we consider a priority.
We draw lines in the sand of what we will and will not do. What we consider Godly
and ungodly. When times of trouble come, we will have a plan and know what we should be doing. We don't want to look back and say I wish I had done something different.
Love our neighbors as ourselves... help those who are struggling - now! Not those who are lazy, but those who are in dire need! The lazy can be encouraged - we should not judge and we should not be harmful to others. If we have time, we can share time; if we have money, we can share money and we can share the gospel -
and certainly we can pray.
Our compassion for others - do
we feel their emotional pain, their
financial problems, their need
for love, their need for conversation?
Jesus would not turn His back on
anyone and He healed all who came
to Him. If we are to be Christ-like,
we must understand what we are
capable of and what we are responsible for.
Troubled times bring people to God and to their knees - bring them to a state of thanksgiving and a time of praise. Even in disasters, people with a loving heart see the good in all things and can be thankful for the things they have left, the mercies God has shown and appreciation for the kindness of strangers.
We are no elite club and we are not above any other man. God wishes to bring all to Himself. We can be the very tool He uses. If we have any resentment, any judgment against another, we are not seeing with the true heart of Christ. We can see evil and call evil deeds evil, but the hearts of men can be turned and can be redeemed through Christ. We have been redeemed and we must ask for this for all we encounter. We are
a light shining brightly that encourages all we encounter and we bring those people closer to the Father through Christ. If we stop breathing in two minutes, will our last words, deeds and emotions reflect the heart of Christ? By grace we live and by grace we are redeemed. It is our Father in Heaven who gives us breath to live this day.
As a small child, we will wonder at life. We will give thanks and praise for all that our Father gives us. We have one brief life on this earth, to give to others.
